The Group

The Computational Biology group is part of the Institute of Integrative Biology (IBZ) in the Department of Environmental Systems Science (D-USYS). We are also affiliated with the external pageSwiss Institute of Bioinformatics. We are funded by an external pageSNF Professorship.

Our goal is to understand the design constraints, robustness, and evolution of gene regulation, particularly at the level of transcription, via modeling, data-driven approaches, and collaborations with experimental biologists. Our research is inherently multidisciplinary, and so is our group, with backgrounds in computer science, physics, and developmental biology.
